Cancun center fielder Victor Cortez contributed to his team's 9-3 win over the New Orleans Rougarous. Cortez, who is tied for 10th in the Champions in stolen bases with 39, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Toros. The win belongs to Ryan Lee in relief. His record improves to 6-5. Fenrir Lyken took the loss for New Orleans. The win for the Toros raised their record to 56-35.

Cortez contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Cancun in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Cortez took a curveball from Fenrir Lyken and stroked the triple to right-center. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Toros to leap in front, 4-2.

Cortez told a Cancun Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
