The Cancun Toros trumped the Death Valley Scorpions, 12-2, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Cancun designated hitter Nate Nitro was terrific. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Nova Montagne, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 10-6. Roquefort Cotswald recorded the save, his 10th.

With Cancun leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Nitro hit a fastball from Bandit Keith for a 2-run home run. It was his 29th home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 4-1.

"We'll savor this win," Nitro told the Cancun Daily, "then get ready for the next game."

With the win, the Toros have a record of 52-40.
