The Death Valley Scorpions scooped up a win at Full Moon Stadium, dumping the New Orleans Rougarous, 5-2. Femini Nomenon, who finished 2nd in the Legends in ERA with 3.30 in 2070, was essential to his team's success. Ray Xavier earned the save for Death Valley, his 11th. Death Valley goes to 61-47, New Orleans to 42-66.
Y'shtola Rhul had a big solo home run for the Scorpions in the top of the second inning. With Death Valley leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Griff Manzer, who is tied for 2nd in the Champions in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Scorpions on top, 2-0.
Death Valley manager praised his team's "businesslike approach."
