Death Valley Scorpions starter Guy Roussy was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the New Orleans Rougarous, 4-3. In 7 innings, Roussy surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs.

Melo Misteur, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Misteur contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Death Valley up, 4-0.

"Both teams played hard," said Death Valley manager .
