The Death Valley Scorpions faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Jihmih Beniko, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cari Price Memorial Stadium by a final score of 6-4. Beniko went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Champions Conference West-leading Scorpions have a record of 62-32.

Death Valley took a 5-4 lead on Ted Giannoulas's 24th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Toronto pitcher James Daly in the bottom of the eighth.

"I still think this team can play even better," Giannoulas told the Death Valley News.
