Down Goes State College, 2-1, to Kansas City
|
Kansas City Hepcats starter Ea Nasir pitched a good game to help his team take down the State College Swift Steeds , 2-1. The winner was Nasir. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Nicky Vaseline. Christian Summers collected his 9th save.
Gibson Doubleneck, who is tied for 6th in the MiLPBE in extra base hits with 34, had a direct impact on the outcome. Doubleneck contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Kansas City up, 1-0.
"The old adage is true," said Doubleneck. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
Kansas City is now 41-44, State College 38-47.
