Brummer Helps Swift Steeds Defeat Firehawks, 6-4
|
Swift Steeds first baseman Cai Brummer left his mark on his team's 6-4 win over the California Firehawks. Brummer, who is tied for 5th in the MiLPBE in total bases with 176, went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for State College in the contest. Bibi Kimura, the winner, goes to 6-7. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts over 7 innings. The Swift Steeds improved their record to 39-47 by beating California.
With State College leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Brummer hit a run-scoring single off California hurler David Sears. It was the 113rd hit of the season for Brummer and put his team ahead, 3-1.
