Loss to Bears Extends State College Losing Streak
|
Brew City played host to State College at The Tap House.
The 8-4 Brew City win over State College was due in large part to Ai Mcfish. The Bears first baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sloppy Joe earned the win for Brew City. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 8-2. Tony Knight notched his 18th save in 23 chances.
Mcfish contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Brew City in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Mcfish took a cutter from Sebastian Telfair and stroked the home run to left-center. His 20th home run of the season allowed the Bears to leap in front, 4-2.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Mcfish told the Brew City Today. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
Brew City goes to 53-30. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
