Elly Mint impressed in the 5-4 Chicago win over Amarillo. Mint went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The winning pitcher was Oskar Von Kautz. His record now stands at 7-8. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Kingpins. Chicago is now 46-40, while Amarillo is 44-42.
Chicago left fielder Tank Fromas contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a screwball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 93rd hit of the season and put the Kingpins ahead, 3-2.
