Hepcats Drop Flamingos, 3-1
|
Kansas City Hepcats starter Hunter Bishop was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Florida Flamingos, 3-1. Bishop, now 2-7, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Kanye West earned the save, his 3rd.
Kansas City used a well-timed hit by Nik Smith to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Hepcats ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Bishop told the Kansas City Chronicle.
With the win over Florida, the Hepcats improved to 36-48.
