Kansas City Tacks 3-2 Loss on California
|
The Kansas City Hepcats had to overcome a good performance from California pitcher Jonny Tom to claim a 3-2 win at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Tom went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Christian Summers, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 11-5. Bajigy Casmyl [BOT] earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Wyatt Whittle to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hepcats on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Kansas City skipper .
Kansas City raised its record to 47-40 with the win.
