Fernandez Jr. Lifts Wheelers to 11-7 Triumph
|
Dee Fernandez Jr. added some punch to the Anchorage offense, helping them outmuscle the California Firehawks, 11-7. In the game, Fernandez Jr., who is tied for 4th in the MiLPBE with a .543 slugging percentage, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Anchorage reliever Missizz Durk picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Slippin' Jimmy took the loss. Dahmir Lucas recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 7 for 10.
Anchorage took the lead in the top of the fifth when Fernandez Jr. hit a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season made the score 7-3, Anchorage.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Fernandez Jr. said. "That's why you play the game."
At 42-46, Anchorage is in 4th place in the West Division.
