Kansas City Stopped, 3-2, by Chicago
|
The Jose Forty-Three Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Kansas City Hepcats and Chicago Kingpins.
The Chicago Kingpins had to overcome a good performance from Kansas City pitcher Elijah Miller to claim a 3-2 win at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. Miller went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Joseph Mathys Hendry, the winner, improved to 12-6. He held Kansas City to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts.
Christopher Hoff had a big solo home run for the Kingpins in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a screwball from Elijah Miller, who is tied for 8th in the MiLPBE with a 6.7 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Kingpins on top, 3-0.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Kansas City manager .
The Kingpins saw their record improve to 47-42.
