Stars Win, 3-2, at Cancun
|
The Nashville Stars did just enough to secure a victory over the Cancun Toros, 3-2, at El Coliseo de los Toros. Nobody did more than pitcher Dizzy Stoner. Stoner went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-1. The win brings the Stars to 11-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Hayden Andrews Jr.? The Nashville third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Stars on top, 3-0. For the game, Andrews Jr. had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Andrews Jr. told the Nashville Chronicle.
