Florida Wins, Summers drives in 5 runs
|
The Florida Flamingos defeated the Brew City Bears, 11-6, at The Tap House. Florida catcher Waxillium Summers had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Barry Balls picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Pedro Peregrino was tagged with the loss. With this game in the books, Florida is 51-36, Brew City 44-43.
Link Althouse had a timely hit in the top of the sixth inning. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Florida first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Flamingos in front, 11-6.
Summers told a Florida Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
