Flamingos Come Up Short at Amarillo, 5-4
Amarillo Armadillos starter Marsh Mellow Jr. pitched a strong game against the Florida Flamingos at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites, leading the Armadillos to victory, 5-4. The winning pitcher was Mellow Jr., now 11-8. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. By defeating Florida, the last-place Armadillos improved to 43-47.

Beau Mathews had a big 3-run home run for the Armadillos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Amarillo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Tugg Boat, who is tied for 6th in the MiLPBE with a 3.34 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Armadillos on top, 5-1.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mathews.
