Bears Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Armadillos, 7-6
|
Brew City beat Amarillo at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Thicker Thick McThicc. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. At 42-46, Brew City is in 4th place in the West Division.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Geoff Bass came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Amarillo pitcher Chatty Johnson, he hit a full count curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Brew City on top, 6-5.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Amarillo manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
