Lemurs Get Clonked by Firehawks, 5-4
|
The California Firehawks withstood a fine game by Louisville first baseman Man Squatch at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons, to upend the Lemurs, 5-4. Squatch went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cheii Armbanduhr got credit for the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. California now has a record of 52-39 with the win.
Maverick Tonyon was 1-2 with 2 walks for California. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Tonyon had a clutch at-bat. Facing Louisville hurler John Waffle, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Firehawks a 5-4 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Tonyon, "and today was a good one for us."
