California Defeated by Louisville, 4-1
|
The Louisville Lemurs beat the California Firehawks, 4-1, at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium. Starting pitcher Chris Cash was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Earning his 5th save for Louisville was Matt Himynamis. The Lemurs saw their win-loss record go to 47-42. At the same time, the Firehawks fell to 45-44.
The Lemurs got a big at-bat from second baseman Robin Griffin. For the game, Griffin was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 14th double of the season gave Louisville a 1-0 lead.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Griffin.
