Flamingos Lose By a Run at State College
|
State College left fielder Griffin Stone was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Florida Flamingos. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Swift Steeds . Ultra Nium picked up the win, lifting his record to 6-6 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 3 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Scott Justice earned the save, his 15th in 23 tries.
The Swift Steeds got a big boost from right fielder Paddington Von Pippington who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Flamingos hurler Stetson Mixon. It was his 49th walk of the season and put State College on top, 3-2.
State College manager called it "a good, solid win."
The Swift Steeds have now won 5 straight.
