Swift Steeds Get One-Run Win at Florida
|
Waxillium Summers had a good game, but he could not keep the Florida Flamingos from falling, 4-3, to the State College Swift Steeds at Florida Man Park. The Florida catcher was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Nero Mantics sewed up the save, his 8th. The Swift Steeds go to 40-49, putting them 4th in the East Division.
State College used a well-timed hit by Mike Pizzaman to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Swift Steeds ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We did enough to win," said Pizzaman.
