Kansas City Downed, 9-5, by Firehawks
|
Kansas City third baseman Nathan Abel had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-5, to California at Center for Kansas City Kids That Can't Read Good. Abel went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Raul Chamgerlain picked up the win in relief for California, while Bendrick Hollows took the loss. The West Division-leading Firehawks are 50-42.
California used the clutch hitting of Francisco Santana to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Firehawks the lead, 6-5. For the game, Santana had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We came out aggressive," said Firehawks manager . "We came out swinging the bats."
