Streaking Bears Win Another One, 3-2
|
The first-place Brew City Bears picked up another win.
Starting pitcher Shota Takahashi was a major factor in the 3-2 Brew City Bears triumph over the Chicago Kingpins. Takahashi, now 11-6, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Smokey Schlitz [BOT] notched his 3rd save of the season.
Had Adam-Cole Bay-Bay not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bay-Bay hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bears.
After the game, Brew City manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The first-place Bears have won 7 in a row.
