Wheelers Down Firehawks, 4-1
|
Anchorage picked up a win at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo, toppling the California Firehawks, 4-1. Pitcher Doc Holliday was one of the reasons the Wheelers triumphed. The save went to Willie MacDougal, his 6th this season. The Wheelers raised their record to 34-59.
In the bottom of the fifth, Anchorage designated hitter Rachel Morimura had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Morimura stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Anchorage. For the game, he went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
Morimura told a Anchorage Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
