Jonny Tom was terrific for the California Firehawks in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Louisville Lemurs. His performance earned Tom rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Tom, now 9-7. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. With the win over Louisville, the Firehawks improved to 53-40.

Rafael Furcal Jr had a big run-scoring triple for the Firehawks in the bottom of the third inning. With California leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Pim Pimling, who leads the MiLPBE in innings pitched with 161.2, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Firehawks ahead, 3-1.
