California had no answer for Brew City Bears hurler Aoife Carter, who overwhelmed Firehawks hitters as the Bears coasted to victory, 8-0. Carter, now 10-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Pedro Papelbottom recorded the save, making him 2 for 2.

The Bears got a big hit from shortstop Thomas Sankara. Facing California pitcher Mid AtBest in the bottom of the seventh, Sankara pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 7th home run of the season put the Bears ahead, 8-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said California manager .
