Lemurs Take Nail-Biter Over Wheelers
|
Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle was host to some intense drama.
The Louisville Lemurs defeated the Anchorage Wheelers, 6-4, in 13 innings. Doing his part was third baseman Smack Miller, who was 2 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Wheelers, now 35-59, have lost 4 in a row.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With no one out, Miller hit a fastball from Greg Buse for a 2-run home run. The Lemurs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Miller told a Louisville Times reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
