Wheelers Deal Armadillos 6-4 Loss
|
The Anchorage Wheelers picked up a win at The Burrow Presented by the PBE Bigger Strange Pod, knocking off the Amarillo Armadillos, 6-4. On the mound for Anchorage was right-hander Warren Peace, who played a pivotal role in the win. Peace, now 13-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The win gives Anchorage a season record of 51-40.
In the top of the fourth, Anchorage right fielder Dan Bacle had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Bacle stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Anchorage. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"It was a solid team effort," said Bacle after the game.
