The Puerto Rico Ranas went home winners at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ottov Yeoj. Yeoj stifled the California Firehawks, enabling Puerto Rico to grab the 1-0 win. Dr. LBG, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Puerto Rico, with the win, sits at 24-68.
Scoops Cunningham was 1 for 3 for Puerto Rico. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Iceman. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Yeoj said.
