Big Day for Love in 11-6 Lemurs Win
|
Louisville left fielder Doug Love helped his team beat the Anchorage Wheelers, 11-6. Love, who is tied for 5th in the MiLPBE in runs scored with 72, went 3 for 4 for the Lemurs. Josh Harper got the win, improving to 9-6. He held the Wheelers to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Louisville has now won 4 straight.
Smack Miller had a big 2-run double for the Lemurs in the bottom of the third inning. With Louisville leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Alex Kidd, who is tied for 9th in the MiLPBE with a 6.7 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lemurs ahead, 4-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Love told the Louisville Gazette.
