Kingpins Handle California, Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Chicago Kingpins and California Firehawks completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Chicago Kingpins rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Avery Time to a win, beating the California Firehawks, 5-2, at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Chicago reliever Marcus DaWorm was the winner. His record is now 6-5. The losing pitcher was Cheii Armbanduhr.
Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Lencho Lopez to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kingpins on top, 5-2. For the game, Lopez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Lopez, "one at-bat at a time."
Chicago goes to 48-49, California to 56-41.
