Sluggs Homers Twice in 5-3 Flamingos Win
|
Led by Atlas Sluggs, the Florida Flamingos defeated the Puerto Rico Ranas, 5-3. Sluggs went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Flamingos. Reid Johnson earned his 5th save in 7 chances. Florida is now 59-38, 9 games up in the East Division.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Sluggs hit a 2-run home run off Jean Girard [BOT]. It propelled the Flamingos into the lead, 4-2.
Sluggs called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
