Wheelers Win, 4-1, at Brew City
|
Anchorage starter Bobby Walk pitched well against the Brew City Bears at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Walk got the win, improving to 10-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 5 over 5.2 innings. Walk allowed no runs. Richard Dick converted his 10th save in 14 tries.
Anchorage used the timely hitting of Hogfeather Jones to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wheelers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Jones called the win "a collective effort."
With the win, the Wheelers have a record of 54-43.
