Florida got a big-time effort from pitcher Wade Cilliams Jr., but it wasn't enough to keep the Puerto Rico Ranas from winning the game, 5-2. Cilliams Jr. threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Ranto Mune got credit for the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. Harry Berry was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 7 save opportunities.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Scoops Cunningham's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Puerto Rico shortstop reached on an error by the SS, driving in 2 runs, to give his team a 3-1 lead.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Florida manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
