Brew City Beats Louisville, 11-3
|
The Brew City Bears racked up a win at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House, bumping off the Louisville Lemurs, 11-3. Aperol Sprtiz, who started for Brew City, pitched effectively for his team. Sprtiz, now 15-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The victory gives Brew City a record of 51-49.
Trevor Lopez had a big 2-run double for the Bears in the bottom of the first inning. With Brew City leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Matthew Huggins, who is tied for 9th in the MiLPBE in quality starts with 13, and swatted a double to center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 3-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Sprtiz said after the game.
