Flamingos Pick Up 6-3 Win Against California
|
The Florida Flamingos locked up a win at Florida Man Park, knocking off the California Firehawks, 6-3. On the mound for Florida was right-hander LaLa Dee. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Dee. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Massive Unit. Junior O'Callaghan closed the door for Florida, picking up his 10th save of the year.
Homer Simpson had a big 3-run home run for the Flamingos in the bottom of the third inning. With Florida leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Massive Unit, who leads the MiLPBE in quality starts with 16, and punished it. The result was his 21st home run of the season, which put the Flamingos on top, 5-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Simpson.
With the victory, the Flamingos upped their record to 54-46.
