6 Straight Wins for Flamingos
|
Florida and Anchorage duked it out and the Flamingos came out victorious.
The Anchorage Wheelers got a sterling performance from pitcher Crazy Tomato III, but the Florida Flamingos still prevailed, 4-2. Tomato III threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Pord Larquad, now 6-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Picking up the save was Zachary Vega III. He's now 12 for 13 in save chances.
Florida used the clutch hitting of Gator McGraw to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I like our mindset right now," said Florida manager .
The first-place Flamingos have won 6 in a row.
