Bears Slap 6-1 Loss on Puerto Rico
|
Aoife Carter pitched a gem to lead Brew City to victory over the Puerto Rico Ranas, 6-1. Carter picked up the win for Brew City, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 11-9. Pedro Papelbottom recorded the save, his 3rd.
Vumion Stitcherson had a big 2-run home run for the Bears in the top of the fifth inning. With Brew City leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 35-year old left-handed pitcher Jean Girard [BOT] and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Bears on top, 3-0.
Said losing manager : "Give the Bears credit. They played a better game than we did."
The Bears go to 58-43, putting them second in the West Division.
