State College Swift Steeds starter Crabtin Crunch pitched his team past the Anchorage Wheelers, 4-0. In 6.1 innings, Crunch surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Billy Jones earned his 10th save in 13 tries.

Bazooka Slow, the 20-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Slow contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put State College up, 3-0.
