The Anchorage Wheelers overcame a pretty good performance by Amarillo first baseman Da Minion DA GOAT, beating the Armadillos, 9-8, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. DA GOAT was 3-4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 6 runs. Wham A Geddon, the winning pitcher, is now 8-6. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 2. The Wheelers are now 50-52, while the Armadillos fall to 64-38.

The Armadillos had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Wheelers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Slime Sluggerton came to the plate. Sluggerton hit a 2-run double on a first pitch curveball from Amarillo hurler VJ Edgecombe. It was Sluggerton's 14th double of the year.

"It feels good to get this one," Sluggerton told the Anchorage Daily.
