Bears Drop 4-1 Decision
|
The first-place State College Swift Steeds took on the Brew City Bears in front of a spirited crowd.
The State College Swift Steeds topped the Brew City Bears, 4-1, in Minor League PBE action at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of State College pitcher Chicken Noods. Blain K'Spais, now 7-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Gabriel Priest earned the save, his 14th in 20 tries.
In the bottom of the seventh, State College second baseman Ulysses Ballion hit a two-strike fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It put the Swift Steeds up, 2-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Ballion.
The East Division-leading Swift Steeds have a record of 65-34.
