Firehawks Score Late to Nip Bears, 4-3
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons.
The California Firehawks withstood an impressive performance by Brew City center fielder Career Minor Leaguer to defeat the Bears, 4-3, at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Minor Leaguer was 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win over Brew City, the Firehawks improved to 60-43.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With California trailing 3-2, Mat Gamel hit a cutter from Sloane Sinclair to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Firehawks had a walk-off win.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Gamel said.
