The rain came, as predicted, but the California Firehawks and Chicago Kingpins were able to complete their ballgame.
California left fielder Maverick Tonyon made his presence felt in the 7-4 Firehawks triumph over the Chicago Kingpins. Tonyon went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. With the win, California upped its record to 60-43.
The Firehawks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Devante Moore. For the game, Moore was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 30th home run of the season gave California a 2-0 lead.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Tonyon.
