Kansas City Wins, Kamenik goes 3-for-3
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 21-year old left fielder Klemen Kamenik, the Kansas City Hepcats stopped the Florida Flamingos, 5-1, in 9 innings. With the win, Kansas City raised its record to 53-51.
There was more than one reason the Hepcats beat the Flamingos, but Kamenik's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
In postgame comments to the Kansas City Gazette, Kamenik said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
