Tight Tilt Goes to Wheelers, 4-3
|
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Peter Dawson III, who is tied for 3rd in the MiLPBE in extra base hits with 39, led the Anchorage Wheelers to a win over the Kansas City Hepcats, 4-3. Bobby Walk was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 12 hits, with 2 walks and no strikeouts. Earning his 4th save for Anchorage was Bouse Guzer.
Dawson III contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Anchorage in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Dawson III took a fastball from Dash Jackson and stroked the home run to left. His 27th home run of the season allowed the Wheelers to leap in front, 4-2.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Dawson III told the Anchorage Observer.
The second-place Wheelers have won 4 consecutive games.
