Red-Hot Rubbish Cools Off Amarillo
The Amarillo Armadillos manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Louisville Lemurs. The Armadillos were overpowered by Louisville starter Ian Rubbish, who hurled his club to victory, 1-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.

Over 9 innings, Rubbish blanked Amarillo on 6 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Rubbish said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

This season Rubbish has worked 157.1 innings with 102 strikeouts en route to a 11-4 record and a 2.80 ERA.
