Lemurs Win at Florida, 8-5
|
With third baseman Diego Machado leading the charge, the Louisville Lemurs defeated the Florida Flamingos, 8-5, at Florida Man Park. Machado, who is tied for 7th in the MiLPBE in RBI with 72, went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Louisville pitcher Shohei Onetani got the win, upping his record to 12-6. Justin Izzo got the loss. Louisville is now 56-50. Florida is 64-42.
Louisville second baseman John Jonathan Johnsen-Jonsen contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a circle change to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 92nd hit of the season and put the Lemurs ahead, 1-0.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Machado.
