Firehawks Pull Off Thrilling 7-5 Win in Extras
|
The California Firehawks withstood an impressive performance by Chicago center fielder Beryl Summers to defeat the Kingpins, 7-5, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. Summers went 6-8 with a double, 5 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. With the win, California pushed its record to 58-45.
The most important at-bat for California came in the top of the 18th inning. With two out, Luke Aardema reached on an error by the P, driving in 2 runs, putting California up, 7-5.
In postgame comments, Aardema said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
