Starting pitcher Sofia Mondragón gave the Louisville Lemurs a rock-solid effort. The Puebla, Mexico native helped his team defeat the Anchorage Wheelers, 2-1, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. After today's action, Louisville sits at 47-59, while Anchorage falls to 51-55.

Louisville took a 2-1 lead on Cal Covid's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Covid hit in the top of the seventh, left Anchorage pitcher Jiggs Kingman visibly frustrated.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Covid, "one at-bat at a time."
