Firehawks Squelch Bears Offense in Shutout Win
The California Firehawks defeated the Brew City Bears, 3-0, in Minor League PBE action at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. California pitcher David Sears had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Sears, now 11-7. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. Claudio Kilgannon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Claudio Kilgannon didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Brew City trailing 2-0, Kilgannon retired Bobs Bigboy to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Kilgannon, with a wink.
