Reeves Slugs Scorpions to 6-3 Win
|
The timely hitting of Bass Reeves helped the Death Valley Scorpions down the New Orleans Rougarous, 6-3. Reeves went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Scorpions. Femini Nomenon, who finished 4th in the Legends in wins with 14 in 2070, was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Ea Nasir. Ray Xavier earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Reeves had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count sinker from Tim Westbrook, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Scorpions a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Reeves.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Reeves.
New Orleans, with the loss, is 1-1.
