Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Kingpins
|
The Chicago Kingpins knocked off the Puerto Rico Ranas, 7-3, at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium. Yneas Kove was a big reason Chicago won. The left fielder went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Beeg Yosh notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 5-2. The victory gives Chicago a record of 62-43.
Kove had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 sinker from Ranto Mune, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Kingpins a 7-3 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Kove.
"Yneas is still learning," said Kingpins manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
