Armadillos Lose By a Run at Florida
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Florida Flamingos take on the Amarillo Armadillos.
The Florida Flamingos knocked off the Amarillo Armadillos, 5-4, in Minor League PBE action at Florida Man Park. Florida pitcher and Oshawa, Canada, native LaLa Dee had an outstanding performance. Dee got the win, improving to 8-5. He gave up 9 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Slum God got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Ozzy Batty went 1 for 4 for Florida. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Blake Faux III. It was his 86th hit of the season.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Batty.
Florida has now won 3 straight, while the Armadillos have lost 3 in a row.
