Toga goes 3-for-4, Leads Wheelers to Win
|
The Anchorage Wheelers extended their winning streak.
Anchorage catcher Himiko Toga was a significant contributor in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Puerto Rico Ranas. He was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Anchorage. Warren Peace got the win, improving to 16-5. He held the Ranas to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 2.
Anchorage took a 7-2 lead on Toga's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Punish Vandals in the top of the seventh, propelled Anchorage to the win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Anchorage manager .
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Wheelers.
