9-8 Win Makes It 7 Straight for Vandals
The Death Valley Scorpions and Vancouver Vandals provided some drama for the home crowd.

Death Valley right fielder Lawn Gnomes had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Vancouver at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Gnomes went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. M4XX V3L0 earned his 9th save in 14 tries.

Vancouver used the bat of Pierre Phillip to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Vandals ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Phillip, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The third-place Vandals have won 7 straight games.
