Sloths Defeat Scorpions, 4-2

The San Antonio Sloths took Death Valley pitcher Jose Forty-Three's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The final score had San Antonio getting past the Scorpions, 4-2. Forty-Three went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. San Antonio reliever Psy Duck picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Ray Xavier was saddled with the loss. San Antonio improves to 46-51 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
San Antonio used the timely hitting of Zane Cold to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sloths on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cold told the San Antonio Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
