Scorpions Snag 4-1 Win
|
The Death Valley Scorpions picked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, taking down the Vancouver Vandals, 4-1. Starting pitcher Always A. Bummus was a big reason why. The win was credited to Ray Xavier in relief. His record improves to 3-5. M4XX V3L0 took the loss. The triumph puts Death Valley at 54-43 for the season.
Daniel Plainview, who finished 3rd in the Champions in batting average with .311 last year, aided the Death Valley cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-2 with a walk.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bummus said.
