Demons Send New York Home with 8-5 Loss
The Detroit Demons had to overcome a big game from New York first baseman Nolan Tegge to leave Vaughn's House with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-5. Tegge went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Thorne Belfour, who finished 3rd in the Champions in saves with 16 last year, earned the save for Detroit. The loss lowers the New York record to 16-3.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Sir Poe to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Demons ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It never gets old," said Poe. "Winning, that is."
