Scorpions Defeat Vandals, 3-2
|
The Death Valley Scorpions did just enough to sneak past the Vancouver Vandals, 3-2, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Death Valley pitcher Quant Tsimicalis Jr., in particular, had a standout performance. Reliever Ray Xavier picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Holly Sheet took the loss. The Vandals fall to 8-11 and continue their sub-.500 start to the 2068 season.
Death Valley won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Holly Sheet on the mound for Vancouver, left fielder Smalls hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Scorpions fans to their feet.
"This joint was rocking," said Smalls.
