Voyagers Handle Raptors, 6-4
|
The New York Voyagers knocked off the Boise Raptors, 6-4, at Hammond Park. Carl Beaty Jr. was a big reason New York won. The left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Kelvin Gauzeman. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. Boise's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Beaty Jr. contributed in the top of the fifth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.
"We played hard and won," said Beaty Jr.. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
