Crabs Fall Short, 3-2, at Boise
|
Boise Raptors starter Jeronimo Ovechkin was in fine form against the Providence Crabs at Hammond Park, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Ovechkin went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 13-4. The victory gives the Raptors a record of 53-49.
The Crabs had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Raptors going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 2061 Rookie of the Year Award winner Rhyno Legg came to the plate. Legg hit a solo home run on a 1-2 fastball from Providence hurler James Daly. It was Legg's 8th home run of the year.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Legg.
